Embracing the Realness of Living in Your Purpose

Updated: Jul 25, 2024

What does it truly mean to live in your purpose? It's a question that has echoed in the depths of my mind for as long as I can remember. Am I living in alignment with my purpose? How do I even begin to find the right path?

I can remember having a deep desire to help people. Growing up, I thought it would manifest as a doctor, a counselor, or a life coach. For many years, that’s exactly what I pursued. I finished my degree in psychology and started taking clients. I proudly named all of my accolades, thinking they would bring me happiness.

It wasn’t until life began to change for me in the areas I had ignored or simply chose to turn a blind eye to—old hurt and wounds I had glided over and never allowed myself to feel and heal—that I began to understand the realness of living in my purpose. These were the very areas of my life that were tested, pushing me to embrace authenticity and true healing.

I had no clue that to heal a lack mindset, I needed to learn greater appreciation and gratitude for all of my blessings. I didn’t know that to gain expansion in my life, I would have to clear away so many people, things, habits, and ways of being. No one ever told me that I would have to be brought to baseline to develop the spiritual confidence to overcome any challenge. But life has a way of teaching us the lessons we need to learn.

I experienced one challenge after another, some bringing me to my knees. I’m just grateful to be able to see now that I have overcome and gained so many new and profound lessons and principles. With sincerity, I can say that I am now truly able to be of service.

Living in my purpose isn’t about the titles or the accolades. It’s about the genuine, unfiltered journey of confronting the parts of myself I tried to hide, healing old wounds, and evolving into a more authentic version of myself. It’s about embracing the authenticity of every moment, every challenge, and every triumph.

I discovered that my purpose was never something external to me; it was woven into the very fabric of my being. It was the natural inclination to offer guidance and support to those in need, to help them reconnect with the universal source of wisdom that resides within us all.

Living in my purpose, I've come to realize, means staying connected to that inner voice, that infinite wellspring of knowledge and intuition. It's about trusting in the journey and allowing life to lead me to situations and circumstances where my gifts can shine brightest.

It's about recognizing the inherent goodness within ourselves and using it to uplift and inspire others. It's about embracing the realness of who we are and allowing our purpose to unfold organically, guided by the wisdom of our innermost selves.

I hope my journey inspires you to embrace your own path, no matter how challenging it may seem. Remember, it’s in those moments of struggle that we find our true strength and purpose.
